R.G. was facinated with the old West.  The family driving vacations always included stops along the way . . . an old deserted mine, a ghost town, a stream to pan for gold, always with his sketchbook in hand.  This award winner, painted from a sketch of the road behind the main street in Virginia City, Nevada circa 1950.
